John uses pedal power to break 328 mile target for Realise
John was cheered home by around 8,000 people as he reached the Midsummer Mayhem race line at 11.48am with just 12 minutes to go.
John, aged 41, tackled the gruelling journey from Land’s End, in Cornwall, to his home town of Newcastle-under-Lyme, with the aim of raising thousands of pounds for the Realise Foundation. The local charity, part of the Aspire Group, supports lifelong learning, apprenticeships and environmental improvements across North Staffordshire.
The non-stop challenge began at 12 noon on Saturday, August 6.
He was being supported by Potteries-born TV presenter, West End Star and Regent Theatre panto favourite Jonathan Wilkes.
