320-mile cycle trek for charity

Cycling enthusiast John Mollart is gearing up for a gruelling race against the clock to raise thousands of pounds for The Realise Foundation.

John, 41, will embark on a 320-mile trip from Land’s End to his home town of Newcastle-under-Lyme in aid of the charity, which aims to inspire communities and enhance quality of life. And, as if the length of the journey was not daunting enough, he also plans to complete the epic bike ride in just 24 hours.

The 24-hours charity bike ride will take place on Saturday 6 August 2011 to Sunday 7 August 2011 finishing at the Midsummer Mayhem 2011, Lyme Valley Parkway, Newcastle-under-Lyme at approx 12.00 noon

The sponsored cycle coincides with the Aspire Housing-sponsored Midsummer Mayhem event, which means he is likely to be cheered home by around 8,000 visitors. With just four months left to prepare, John is right in the middle of a rigorous training regime in his attempt to try and raise thousands of pounds for the charity..
